All-inclusive holidays 'offer value for money'

When booking a holiday for the over 50s, it might be worth considering an all-inclusive break because they offer good value for money, it has been claimed.

People looking for affordable holidays for over 50s might consider an all-inclusive break in light of recent comments from Abta - The Travel Association.

According to the organisation, which represents more than 5,500 travel agencies, trips of this sort were among the "massive success stories" of last year and can offer good value for money.

Monarch Holidays published figures earlier this month indicating a 26.5 per cent increase in all-inclusive bookings for the summer months.

Sean Tipton, spokesperson for Abta, commented: "[All-inclusive breaks] saw a big increase in growth because of the strength of the euro in particular."

Those thinking about a break for over 50s could find that they no longer have to worry about conversion rates when booking their trip.

Mr Tipton explained that for all-inclusive breaks, it is possible to pay for everything up front using sterling.

He claimed that they will continue to be good value next year as the strength of the pound against the euro is not likely to improve significantly.
